Hope for animals after Hurricanes Irma and Maria

Dear ,

Barbuda is in ruins, near total devastation.

Right before Hurricane Irma tore through the Caribbean island, all of the residents were evacuated to their neighbour island Antigua, but they were not allowed to bring their cherished pets.

Animals were left alone, scared, and vulnerable. They took cover as best they could, but there was nowhere to go. Irma wasn’t kind, but still a great many animals survived.

Because of you, we can be there for the survivors.

As you read this, our team is on the ground handing out emergency food, treating injuries, and doing whatever is necessary to help these vulnerable animals in the immediate and long-term.

Thanks to you, animals will not be the forgotten victims of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Out of the ruins in Barbuda we found a lost ginger kitten without her mother. Our team named her Irma (after the hurricane).

Barbuda is one of many islands devastated by Hurricane Irma.

We’re also on the ground St. Maarten, Turks and Caicos, and Haiti – we were among the first there along with our local partners.

It’s thanks to you that we are able to act fast to help animals when their need is greatest.

We’ll continue to post updates about our disaster relief work on our website and social media pages.

Thank you again for joining us to move the world to protect animals.
