How you moved the world for animals in 2017
Over the past 12 months, you brought hope and protection to millions of animals around the world. Your voice and support made it possible for us to influence key changemakers, making animal welfare a priority and creating a brighter future for animals.
You’ll find some of your successes below – I’m so proud to be part of this animal protection movement with you.
You made it possible for us to deliver emergency relief and aid for 12 natural disasters. You helped sustain and heal more than 800,000 animals in 16 countries. From the catastrophic aftermath of Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean to extreme winter dzud in Mongolia, you were a lifeline for animals when they needed you most.
Your support also enabled us to continue rabies vaccination programs in Sierra Leone and Kenya. Thanks to you, thousands of dogs are now safe from rabies and cruel culling.
You helped rescue 11 more bears from cruel forms of entertainment like ‘dancing’ and ‘baiting’, bringing us closer to ending these cruel practices for good. And you continue to support sanctuaries that heal these bears and keep them free to behave naturally.
Because of your support, we influenced Instagram to educate its 800 million users about the suffering wildlife selfies can cause to animals.
These are just some of the many achievements we’ve made for animals this past year. You can discover more ways that you moved the world for animals through our end of year video and web article.
